Cagsawa Ruins – is also one of the most iconic tourist landmarks in Albay. Cagsawa church was built in 1587 but was burned down by Dutch pirates in 1636. The church was rebuilt in 1724 but was again destroyed when the Mayon volcano erupted in 1814 killing approximately 1,200 people. Over the years Cagsawa ruins has become one of the most visited tourist destinations of Albay and also a favorite spot to enjoy and capture the majestic view of the Mayon volcano.

Nuestra Senora De La Porteria Parish in Daraga Albay – It is commonly known as Daraga Church is another must-see historic landmark that was built by the Franciscans in 1772. The Daraga church has a mesmerizing architecture with walls made out of volcanic rocks.

There are a lot of places in Albay that have a great view of the volcano but the view from the church is one of the best.

 

Sumlang lake – it is absolutely a beautiful place with a few good photo opportunities and a nice restaurant by the lake.
